VTA SPRING PLAYWRITING BAKEOFF 2020

Guidelines

Bakeoff open to all students in grades 9-12 for the 2019-2020 school year. 

By 12 pm EST, on April 20th, all bake off registrants will be sent 5 “ingredients” that must be included in your play.

• The play should:

  • Include all 5 ingredients in some way (how much of each is up to the writer)

  • Be typed using a 12 point font

  • Have no more than 15 pages of dialogue

  • Be saved as a PDF (A submission link will be provided)

  • Include a cover page(s) with

    • Title of play

    • Author’s Name

    • Character Descriptions

    • Setting

    • Brief Summary

    • Be formatted in some kind of play/screenplay format

    • We recommend putting stage directions in italics or (parenthesis)

    • We recommend starting dialogue with character names CAPITALIZED and then starting the line of dialogue underneath

      I only have apple. Is that okay?

  • Be submitted by midnight on April 24th.

• One play will receive a virtual staged reading.
