GUIDELINES

The Bakeoff is open to all college/university students for the 2019-2020 academic year. 

Registration will end at 11:59 pm EST, May 10th. 

By 12 pm EST, on May 11th, all bake off registrants will be sent 5 “ingredients” that must be included in your play.

• The play should:

  • Include all 5 ingredients in some way (how much of each is up to the writer)

  • Be typed using a 12 point font

  • Have no more than 15 pages of dialogue

  • Place stage directions in italics or (parenthesis)

  • Start dialogue with character names CAPITALIZED and then starting the line of dialogue underneath

       JENNY

       I only have apple. Is that okay?

  • Be saved as a PDF (A submission link will be provided)

  • Include a cover page(s) with

    • Title of play

    • Author’s Name

    • Character Descriptions

    • Setting

    • Brief Summary

    • Be formatted in some kind of play/screenplay format

  • Be submitted by midnight on May 15th.

• One play will receive a virtual staged reading.
