1st Annual Digital High School Monologue Festival

Entry Guidelines

1. Festival open to all students in grades 9-12 for the 2019-2020 school year. 

2. Participants will submit a 60 second monologue by providing an unlisted YouTube link in the appropriate registration form field.

Here's how to :

  1. Sign into your YouTube Account.

  2. Go to your My Videos page.

  3. Select the video which you'd like to make an unlisted video. Click the Edit button to access the video's settings.

  4. Go to the Privacy section of the page. ... 

  5. Don't forget to click the Save Changes button.

  6. Copy your video link and post in in provided field within the registration application.

3. Please slate with the following information prior to starting monologue: Name, School, Play title, Playwright, Character. The slate will not be counted as part of 60 second time limit.

4. Participant’s who exceed the time limits will be noted in feedback.

5. It is encourage that the monologue be from a published play and not from a movie or television program.

6. Monologues with violent behavior patterns, vulgarity, strong language or those that are sexually explicit are inappropriate and unacceptable.

7. Props/Costume pieces discouraged. Registrants should wear simple clothing that allows for ease of movement.

8. Performances will be reviewed by teachers from VTA’s Secondary Leadership team, and feed back will be provided to each participant.

9. Students must agree to abide by all rules for competition.

10. A pool of 25-30 performers will be listed as All-Star Performers and receive recognition via social media and a the 2020 conference.

11. Deadline for registration is 12:00 pm, Friday, May 8th.
